While our nation continues to debate whether or not women should serve in combat roles, the truth of the matter is that there is a battle raging already in the spirit and women have been right in the middle of it for centuries. Unfortunately, another truth is that the institutional church has not walked in the true revelation of the role of women in this spiritual battle. Arguably, women have been more of a secret weapon utilized by the Father at the most unsuspecting times. Why? Because the battle began between the serpent and the woman and Father God gave the decree. The LORD God said that there would be enmity:hostility, hatred, ill will, animosity and antagonism between the serpent and the woman. His seed and her seed. (Genesis 3:15). The battle is raging. Yet, religious structures have taken the scriptures and misinterpreted the role of God's created woman and left her outside of her ordained position. Unrecognized authority is ineffective at best, powerless at least.
This is the unfortunate position that some Christian women find themselves in today. A false religious hierarchal structure, not authorized by God or scripture, has used falsehood to subjugate women to a position of ineffectiveness to the detriment of the Kingdom of God. This is the greatest "doop" of all time. Scripture study from the original Hebrew texts clearly expresses the manner in which God views his created woman. Most often He has chosen, the most unexpected women, those least regarded by cultural and social norms in fact! That is good news, girls! This is how the Creator of the Universe uses the foolish things to confound the wise. If you take a walk through scripture and "see" the women that God has used then you understand why action is required. The study we will embark on, "Girls with Swords", is about unleashing God's unique creation to embrace the call to arms as daughters, as princesses, as warriors- His Kingdom come and His will be done.
So if you are a female you are part of this eternal destiny that all began in the third chapter of Genesis. We have been fighting battles, unawares mostly. But it is now time for us to gather our strength and step into our unique created purpose and bring forth the Kingdom mandate of our King.
Girls with Swords, by Lisa Bevere, is a book-study curriculum available through Messenger International that encourages women to receive godly wisdom and revelation to begin to walk out what has been ordained from the beginning of time. All too often, culture has attempted to keep women from obtaining our true inheritance in Christ.
